[A] Budget: Looking for Proposals
[B] Scope of Service:
(1) Vendor needs to provide Psychiatrist Consulting Services to consulting psychiatrist will assist in the provision and monitoring of mental health services for residential students of all ages at School for the who do not have access to daily transportation.
The consulting psychiatrist will provide on-call support for students of all ages and consultation for staff during a mental health crisis.
The consulting psychiatrist will coordinate their services with the Director of Student Support Services on the campus, as well as work collaboratively with members of the school’s mental health team and administration
1. Participate in diagnostic evaluations of students and their family.
2. Provide evidence-based recommendations for those students, which may include school based counseling, as well as referrals for outside mental health services (e.g., to a community mental health center) and advise on school based supports until students (staff) are engaged in appropriate care.
3. Prescribe, manage, and monitor medications of those students under the consulting psychiatrist’s care. This may entail primary responsibility through the school’s Student Health Center or in conjunction with the students’ primary care physician in the home community.
4. Provide on-call treatment and/or consultation to school staff regarding the mental health needs of students who are either under the consulting psychiatrist’s care or who are deemed to be in a mental health crisis.
a. Maintain professional phone and email accounts for contact during regular school hours, as well as after-hours for on-call needs related to residential students under care or deemed to be in a mental health crisis.
b. Respond to urgent calls.
c. Check professional email account daily.
5. Provide educational seminars to appropriate staff regarding a variety of mental health issues experienced by children and adolescents.
6. Ensure that all protected health information in local or school networks is stored in compliance with regulations to the government authority located Frederick, MD.
(2) A contract period will be for one year.
